The focus
of the Justice and Peace Commission’s work is on selected human rights issues
whereas local human rights situations are examined only in individual cases. At
present, three African countries, i.e. Egypt, Zambia and Zimbabwe, and one
Asian country, Indonesia, form the regional priorities of a more intensive
monitoring of the respective human rights situation. As the Commission’s work
is very partner-oriented, our primary objective is to strengthen and support
local human rights activists, primarily in the context of national Justice and
Peace structures.
